Looking To Upgrade - Help Please

hey guys ...I am currently looking to upgrade my tank - at the moment i have an biurb tank and while I am happy with it I'm looking to go alot bigger

My requirements are for it to look modern & to be fairly quiet as I would like to keep it in the bedroom

Any advise would be great - even if its what not to get rather than what to get!!

Bigger is always better just how big are you looking to go? seen any sort of tank thats caught your eye?

The juwel vision 180 has caught my eye & also there are a few fluval I like

Just not sure which is the best brand & which is quietest?

Both of those a pretty good, i have a vision 180 i'm more than happy with it

Yea they are good tanks i currently have a Fluval venezia 190 corner aquarium i do like it a lot and fits perfect in the corner and more than happy with it,

when you say quietest do you mean in terms of filter noise ect?

Fluval Roma 200 is a decent tank.

I have the Roma 200. Very happy with it. Consider going second user. I picked mine up with an External Fluval 205 filter and loads of accessories for £100

Check ebay / gumtree / aquarists classifieds and even the classified section of this forum.

Looks like you have the anser you were looking for ive also had a roma 200 and found it to be very good looked very modern and upto date plenty of room in there to keep you busy to

I have a Rio 180 in my bedroom and it is totally silent. Excellent filter. The dark wood effect looks lovely and is more like a piece of furniture as it blends in with my room. I nearly got the fluval 200 but it stood out a bit too much as just an aquarium for my tastes.

I found the fluval 205 filter you normaly get with it to be quite good and fairly quiet, the most noise i got was from the air pump but to be honest it was an old one i had but you can get some good quiet ones these days hope that helps,

I had two Fluval U4's running on my Fluval Roma 200 and they are practically silent. I now run one U4 and an External filter which remains quiet.

The U range from Fluval is excellent in my opinion, they are just quite large.

Thanks for all your replies guys ...think ive made my mind up on the fluval 240 ..hopefully going to look at some this weekend ....

Now the big question ..what to stock with ..

ps..i know i need to cycle the tank first but its fun to plan ahead and think what i can get
