Hey all, I have had a saltwater nano for around 3 years now and have never dealt with freshwater but have been attracted to neon tetras. I am thinking about converting to freshwater but have no idea what the requirements are and what it entails. Is it as high maintenance as saltwater? Cycling process the same? Also what kind of water? (I use distilled water for my sw tank)
I have a 10g tank
70w metal halide viper
50watt Visi-Therm Stealth Heater
30 Aquaclear filter
and as for aeration is it the same? (powerheads?)

Thanks guys!

Hi
neons won't live long in a 10G tbh,

the volume of water isn't stable enough for them, and as they are a species that requires a very mature tank anyway (set up for 6 months+) due to their sensitivity you will likely have problems keeping them in a 10G, if they do survive, they certainly won't thrive
