Hey, dont really know much about plants for aquariums, i only know the plants in my aquarium just now grow like wild fire and look fantastic!

Anyway i am looking for some advice on what to buy, i am looking for a moss type thing that will cover my half teracotta plant pot that i use as a cave.

also possibly some sort of low growing plant to cover parts of my substrate with that will look similar to grass.

thanks for the help :hey:

use any moss, they are all easy but java moss is the easiest.

What are your lighting levels & tank size?

you might get away with eleochris parvula or eleocharis aciularis. If not, a marsilea specie is easy.

well i went roud to my LFS and she gave me a huge clump of moss for free!

is there any easier ways of laying it other than tying it down, becasue it will be very disruptive to do that?

you could leave it floating if you want, tying it donwn is the only option.
i tried that but it just floated half way down the tank and got into everything and made the place a mess! better get started with the fishing line then i guess

Java Moss won't stick to teracotta pots.

I have tried and after 4 months it still had not taken hold.

Buy some bogwood and use some cotton thread to wrap it on.

I have had stunning results using bogwood and thread.

the surface which you attach it on cannot be smooth, get somthing sharp and put some scratches on it (if you do dont mind!)
