I've been looking around at the moment, to see what plants etc i could add to my tank to make it look more natural and hopefully improve the environment for the fish.

I'm in the process of collecting plant names etc to fill my juwel 96L and i discovered this website:

Ratemyfishtank.com

It was set up so that people could share the layout of their tanks with information on species, plant names etc. and i've found it really helpful. Here are some of my favourites:

I just think its wonderful how some people can spend so much time and effort on their tanks. I hope its okay to link this, I just thought it would be helpful for anyone looking for inspiration.. any pictures you yourself are particularly proud of and would like to share?
Also, if anyone knows of any other good websites i could use to find information and buy different plant species and bogwood etc. could you please let me know here?

No, I'm not no plant expert, and I've only kept 2-3 plants ever since I started, but something about plants are just awe-inspireing.
Those are beautiful tanks, and I'm jealous of whoever has the time and resources to do something like that!

I'm no expert either, I have very few plants at the moment, but i'd certainly like to be one day

I dont like the idea of 'rating fish tanks' on a scale of 1-10, because i think alot of it is down to the individuals taste, but it is nice to see what some people are able to do, so i thought i'd share it.
& its one of the largest collection of fish tank pictures i've seen on the internet, they have everything from freshwater, heavily planted tanks to saltwater.

Its deffinetly worth a visit.

If you really want to go in to planting world you should buy a book by Takashi Amano he the best on making planting tank.

those 2 tanks look like amano tanks if you ask me, i'm pretty sure i've seen them before

Thanks for the advice, I've been looking at a few books on amazon, but they're all really pricey. So maybe they'll appear on the christmas list :shifty:
Also, i've visited the planted tanks section of the forums and it's been really helpful, thank you and I'm glad you like the site, its not just for planted tanks but pretty much every other tank you can imagine - good stuff.
