Allright lads;

My Juwel Rio is stocked as follows:

- x2 Rainbow Cichlids
- x2 Three Spot Gouramis (female)
- x6 Congo Tetras

I am planning on a small pleco at some point, and 2 longfin angelfish.

My question is: I'm looking for a final fish for the tank (to act as a sort of "juwel of the tank" or however you want to portay it) and I honestly don't know what to opt for =/

A Discus comes to mind, but I'm aware that they require deeper tanks + may have compatability issues with Angels....

Any suggestions?

Could you not up the tetras to say 20? And then have a pair of angels as the 'centre piece'?

Sorry didnt realise they got that big my bad. Hmmm I still like to say a pair of angels would be my choice on a centre piece fish, how about 10 rainbowfish?

20 Congos? With the fish already in the tank, wouldnt that be vastly overstocked?

Lol, yeah I think fishy thought you was talking about something else. I would say your pretty much there and that I don;t personally think you have enough room for a centrepiece fish in there. I could only recommend a small shoal of something.. Even if you just went by the very rough inch by gallon rule, gouramis = 12 inches, rainbows 10 inches and congos 18 inches, theres 40 inches right there, to your 40 gallon tank
