Names!!! My other half was naming them as they were getting taken out! Olympia 1 to 4! Sounds odd, but apparently the theory was that the olympics has discus haha! I'm currently trying ro learn the difference between them, let alone giving them names!

Well, as with most of you, i am already looking to the future! I am not sure if i should/could get another 2 discus in there. Or maybe (or maybe in adition) another 50 cardinals, as there is loads of space for them!

well i have been trying to decide!!! Maybe you can help!

Just now i have 4 discus, 50 cardinals, 4 rams, 4 corys and 10 ottos. The ottos are AMAZING at cleaning up algae, but for some reason i just cant keep them alive....ever! I used to add them to my small tank and they'd last a couple weeks. I gathered this was as the PH was too high. But my big tank (and now my small one) have low PH (as in 6.2 and 6.6 respectively) and they are still dying off! Only got about 8 in my big tank now, and 2 in my 90L.

Anyway, i need something to control my algae. I have algae on my grass carpet which the ottos seem to ignore..... so shrimp are the answer i think. I would love a load of cherry shrimp in there.

BUT, i need to think of space! Bottom feeders are my 4 corys, potential for shrimp, and one day MAYBE a snowball plec (only 6" max). I realise i need to up my number of corys, but i have frozen that incase i decide to move them to my 90L where i have another 3.

Suggestions as to what i could stock?

Hmm... larger shrimp could be good. Although a huge shoal of cories would look cool. In the region of 15 or so... I imagine you could still get away with some larger shrimp even with more cories. Although you'd have to be careful with what can go at the higher temps discus like. Don't know enough about shrimp to know which might be alright with that and which won't.

You might be able to do 2 more discus and maybe another 20-25 cardinals?

Looking back at that picture (didn't notice it before) it looks like BGA on the carpet/glass at the front. In which case it's not very surprising they're ignoring it because it's toxic. Nothing eats BGA. The only way you can get rid is 1. increase nitrates, 2. increase flow, 3. ensure filter and substrate are meticulously clean so as to keep ammonia to a minimum. I had BGA for ages and it's a complete pita to get rid of!
