Hi
My fish have been displaying red gills (esp. pearl danios) which look quite sore. I've followed advise from here and carry out regular changes 25% twice a week with top ups where necessary, the last change was this morning, prior to that it was Sunday and I always use Aquasafe - I've ordered some seachem prime, just waiting for it to arrive and shud be here tomorrow.

Tank size: 248
pH: 7.5
ammonia:0
No2: 0
No3: 10
kH: 6d
gH: 16d
tank temp 26

I have carried out an ammonia test tonight using the Tetra All Ammonia liquid tester but its yellow = 0mg/l. The fish aren't showing any other signs just red gills I'm at a loss. I was wondering whether it was a long term effect from before which takes a while to clear.....? Any advise or alternative suggestions?

P.S. Following yesterdays' thread I obviously won't be feeding them for a couple of days anyway

Thanks

Are the fish active or just hanging at the bottom or top?
I have a platy who is in the hospital tank. All he does is stay right at the top surface of the water. I'm not sure what is wrong with him; I'm assuming he might have been subjected to too much ammonia before and now is affected (possibly long term?) Hopefully an answer you get will help me with my problem.

Hi Mattvillas

Thats funny isn't it! Kinda glad I'm not on my own tho. My fish all seem happy in their behaviour lively as normal waiting for me to feed them  that won't be happening tho hahaha

Keep ur fingers crossed for some words of wisdom ;)
