I have a beta that lives all alone in a 10g tank :( He did have some zebra danios as tank mates, but he chased them and nipped their tails  so I put them in my community tank. My beta is diligently making bubble nests daily, so I put my female beta from the community tank in with him. Big Big Mistake :grr: She was petrified and spent 2 days cowering in a corner (I think she's too old for trying new things  ) He terrorised her so I returned her to the community tank where she's only just getting over her ordeal. What should I do - introduce some tank mates, or a different younger female, or leave him on his own :look: Do betas get lonely :S ?

He won't get lonly. He sounds like one of the ones that is real agressive and needs to be by himself other wise other fish will get terrorized by him. You need to keep male and female bettas seperate unless breeding for the reason and more you found out when you put them together. Rose
