Hi
I got 2 bolivian rams about 5 or 6 weeks ago. After much help on here we decided they were both female. I had tried to get one of each sex. One was bullied by the other and got very stressed and weak and died about a week ago. The remaining one is doing well.
Tonight I noticed the ram wiggling her belly and tail on the sand and hollowing out an area. She has made a hollow about one inch deep and around 2 to 3 inches wide each way. She doesn't usually bother any other fish other than the odd small chase that most fish do but while digging this hole tonight I saw her chase a cory away. It wasn't the usual little nudge. Her posture told you she meant business. Get away or else.
Is this normal for a lone ram? She can't be about to lay eggs right? I am as sure as I can be that the one that died was female but I am new to rams. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
David
