Ok, i plan to get a tank with angelfish (in the future in like 1 month+) and as i browse through the cichlid forums on angels, it seems that all their stocking of angels is in pairs and up. So i was wondering, are angels ok if they live by themselves? And would tankmates of swordtails and corydoras not both them and vice versa? One more question, do angels do ok in tanks that are only a foot tall? just curious because it seems angels grow very tall

thanks :D

Angels do fine by themselves. Corys are fine with angels, swords, with a bit longer fins, might look a little like another angel, and treated as suck, meaning some nipping. Angels need a minmmum of 16" of water depth, this means an 18" deep tank if you use any substrate.

aw, guess that means angels are out of the question now. I had a spare 20 gallon and my dad wont let my buy a bigger higher tank =P

hm, even though this doesnt involve angels anymore, Is there a fish i could add to my community tank to be? i plan to have a trio of swordtails and four corydoras, preferably C. Punctatus or C. Leucomelas. I want a fish that will kind of be the main attraction of the tank :good:

i have always been against keeping angels by themselves. they all look deprived when kept alone.

uh, hm i dont really want tetras because i kinda want a big kind of "center" to the aquarium, rainbow fish would be nice but i hear they like to live in groups and the lfs near my house which has them is very expensive. Plecos, the only other ones i see other than commons is an albino bristle nose which is too expensive, 42 dollars xD

more suggestions guys?
