I would think that the test isn't working properly - have you been really agitating the bottle (shake for 5 mins, bang on the table first etc) as the regent contains a powder which can sink out of suspension....

Yea I do everytime. One bottle for each hand, and I kinda dance around shaking them. Had to make it fun.

If you note before though, as soon as I did a water change it reset to 40 then rose up properly again.

Odd. Reading the log you're not doing water changes which would account for the reduction and if the test is still working fine ... you don't have real plants do you? (they take in Nitrate), if not it can'tbe going anywhere so I can only think of the test... Sorry stumped otherwise

My dad and I are still figuring out the water changing business so we missed it this weekend, supposed to be every weekend. Think he's going to bring me 15G to keep here so he only has to come every 3rd weekend instead of every weekend.. Haha..

No real plants.
And yes, I think it's the test too. That's why I was wondering if, for example, the color for 40 is the same color it is for 300 or something.
