I want to buy 2 Lobsters from the store, i had a friend that useto have a couple 125 gallons, and he bought some basic lobsters from the local store and had them in there, i recently thought it was a good idea and would like to give it a try does anyone have any advice on this, there about 10-12''and are red with huge claws, what is the best to feed them i know they we'll eat other fish {feeder fish} i think they will eat worms moss etc. is this correct and what else? my friend that had them moved and we lost touch but he had them for a long time...

Does any one know anything about this at all...

Are they red crayfish? Need a little bit more info about the specific ones you want you could look on www.shrimpcrabsandcrayfish.co.uk

they have lots of pictures and info.

Basically crayfish grow to a variety of sizes they are nearly all scavengers eating animals and plants (dead and alive), they need a varied diet including vegetables, fish, mussels etc. They tend to hide any excess food that can lead to water problems (so remove any un eaten food). They need good size aquariums can be cannibalistic, they are very vulnerable when they shed, so should be kept in species tanks (I keep mine alone).

They are very intresting and quite funny to watch when they sense the food in the tank. Well worth getting as long as you can house them properly. :)

If they're proper saltwater lobsters you need to go to salwater inverts thread (aren't the red ones of those the cooked ones?) :D

yes they are the ones that get cooked so are they saltwater then?

and if so do i need a filter or can i still do without and do they need to be completly under water so lots of water or no?

So they are red crayfish just very large ones and i was wondering to set up there tank i heard that you can put just regular dirt in the tank its a little dirty and sometimes not clear but it has calcium and simulates there original enviroment is this true?
