So my female lobster berried up about 3-4 weeks and in hideing. I Shined a light under her cave to see what she is up to and her eggs are still attached and surrounded in a green funk. It appears almost liek a mold of some sort. All the other times she has done this I never saw any green there. so I am concerned that there may be a problem with the eggs.

Take them out
Looks like there rotting

is there decent water flow/filtration to her cave? I'm assuming (so don't take this as fact) that just like shrimp they would need a constant flow of fresh water over the eggs to stop them from developing a fungal rot. She should be doing this herself, but if there's a problem with your water/current, then maybe this is the problem....

just a suggestion

Hmm, There is an airstone that is putting air through one end of here cave and she even though she has shorn up the walls of her cave there is 3 entrances to it. It is the biggest cave she has ever hidden in though so it may not have as much water flow as she needs.

Can they halt a hatch like they can stall a molt when they feel insecure? There is two juviniles in her tank (less then a half inch) that are maybe making her nervous except she has hatched two batches when daddy was still in the tank and he is bigger then her.

If they are not hatched by this weekend I am going to remove the juvies and take her cave apart to get a better look at her.

Shined the light in today pretty sure instead of eggs I was looking at a gabillion little black lobster eyes Also didnt see any green, maybe that was an odd reflection of the substrate So I am pretty sure all is well on the lobster front thank you for the suggestions.

I am hoping with me swapping 200 + lobsters again for a another 90 gallon capable filter, a 20 gallon terrarium and a banded cal king snake. the last batch was around 250 babys and she molted after that batch so she is again bigger. My LFS takes em to fish and reptile shows and sells em for 5 bucks a piece (most stores charge 25+ for em here once they are an inch and a half) But I swap em to em for a dollar a piece in store credit once they are 1/4 inch since I do not have space to keep em and the store is realy doing me a favor taking them. Since my male and female now have thier own tanks I will be giving momma a break for a month or so before a conjigal visit is given this is 3 batches in about 4 months so its been insane. (fist batch was 150 ish second batch was 250 ish) This is all of course assuming I am right and I was seeing loads of eyes.

eeeee it must be so exciting!! Plus, store credit is a massive bonus. They sound like really healthy lobsters to be reproducing like that. Are they freshwater lobsters? Are they easy to keep?

They are Electric blue lobsters (blue florida crayfish) They are fresh water mine breed like and if they are warm enough and she has a place to hide that she feels cozy. My fish store will take anything I bring them I think. I swapped em a bag of guppys and platys(tank was getting over run) the other day for 2 goramis, again I coulda probably asked for more but they were doing me a favor. I am hoping that next year when my local fish club does its swap meet and auction I have lotsa stuff to contribute. Oh and I got a good look at her tonight they are definately hatched Because I saw them crawling around her tail. So I will hafto go buy some nylons to cover my filter intake and do a water change tomarrow before she starts taking them out of her cave.

I would suggest, either moving here to a smaller tank, and treating it with an, invert safe, anti fungal. or, treating the tank she is kept in. whilst she is in berry.

also, though i know it sounds counter intuitive, reduce the water temp. both bacteria and fungi, grow less well as the water temp drops. and the cray is, in essence, a temperate animal. though capable of living at higher temps. so the drop will not worry the cray.

eeeeee crawling all over her tail?? That sounds adorable  My momma shrimp is carrying at the moment :D I'd love to keep something like lobsters but I don't know anywhere around here that stocks them, or that would give me good advice if I did get one.

I will get pictures soon as I can But since she stays hid till they are big enough to run around at her feet They still cling to her when she moves around but she will take them around and let em do stuff its fun to watch.
