As above, this was bought off ebay, but i won two of them :( They both work equally well and quiet. I cannot vouch for their history (age etc) as they are off ebay, but considering it is at around 40% of the retail price, i dont feel you can really go wrong - i am happy with my one which is now servicing all of my tanks!

Nobody interested in these at all?! Off to eBay they go...

Hi Rorie I am after a decent pump. I need something that will do a 12" airstone. I'm not very clued up on what's what with pumps. Which one would be best? I'm after something cheap but that will do the job.

Ok, Interpet ones are really quiet, along with the tetratec one that is now sold. So if you want quiet, go for one of them.

The Interpet airvolution 1 is stated as being suitable for one 12" stone. It has one output.

Generally when you run an air pump you will have a relief valve where you can tune how much air is going to the stone, and how much goes to the atmosphere.

If i were you (not a sales pitch, honest!) i would go for something a little larger than you you need, as i think most of the time you will want to expand. This is just my opinion though!

So, if you want cheap, and something which will be highly utilised, the Airvolution is the one for you. It is quiet too.

If you want something bigger, go for either the Elite 802 or the AquaAir AP3. But take note, these are much noisier! I would not say that they are LOUD, but not as quiet as those named above.

So what if you want bigger and quiet? Simple, go for the Airvolution 4.

Hope this helps?!

Do you have any airlines or stones to go with them or would I have to buy that seperate?

No air stones as i dont use them. Airlines..... i do have, but the most are in use, and what is not in use are all cut up and odds and ends. So you would need to get new i guess
