hi all

doing some research on my guppies but found out they are the Endler's guppy. I am just wondering if i can add some guppys with fancy tail/fins as i fell in love with the colour of them lol

but i have got 2 adult males and a 4 month male Endler's guppy his colour have just start show but going to be looking for a home for him soon has the 2 older males attack by them. also got 3 female Endler's guppy (i know what going to get said over this) but i am treating fin rot in my tanks so dont want to put any other fish at risk. will get more female when i am clear of any illness that is in me tank.

but when this is done will i be able to add some fancy guppies in and if i do will they breed with the Endler's guppy

thanks all

if they have short fin's it dose not mean the endlers, wild guppieas are short finned too.

There both guppies with no endlers

However the following is a true endler

They two species will also easily cross, and 99% of shop fish are already a guppy cross and cant rearly be called true endlers

the males are the same colour but there tail is like a normal tail with a long bit of fin coming of the tail fin if u get what i mean but will try and get a photo

their be a cross breed then, as this is a common trate with guppy crosses

lol through so as the males are tiny and the female are not as big as the fancy guppy but bigger then males lol. another question tho what is the colour of the young from them as i have had a bronze silver colour young in the tank but i found some pinky coloured fry in my tank yesterday. but they are either of the guppies or platys

thats just the base colour

my seconed fish is a normal base colour (olive in colour) and the first one is Blond so look's more creamy yellow

I was lucky enough to buy some female endlers and small fry today from a breeder I discovered just 6 miles from my home (thanks Paul :D). The young fry (about the same size as newborn guppies) and juveniles are a uniform pearly whitish grey (not boring as they look very nice with metallic scales). They start to develop colour about 4 months old, although if you keep them in the main tank with the males, development may be delayed by the hormones released by adult males. The males vary in their coloured markings and fin lengths. How much of this is due to historic crossing with guppies is unclear, so choose the specimens you consider to be the best for breeding and enjoy your hobby.

i dont tend to breed them they just breed lol but leave them in the main tank to let nature take it cause. i got 1 female month and 1 male 3 month that the colour just started come out on him but going to have to get him a new home as my 2 older males is picking on him. and got 3 young that are about 4 weeks old hoping none of them are males lol

Endlers are endlers live bearers NOT endlers guppy but they are gorgeous fishies

They was nicknamed "Endlers Guppy" and was though to be a sub species of the guppy, they was nick named this for over 30 years, this is why many people keep them as endlers guppy.
It was officially named as it's own species only a few years back. It's hard to change something like that.
