Liver for Discus

Does anyone know if Liver is ok for my discus. I'm running out of the usual beef heart and my butcher says it's hard to get. So liver seems the easier option. He says he could get Lambs heart (whats the difference).

Pesonally i wouldnt feed them any mamalian protein, since they would not come into contact with it in the wild most fish are not equiped to deal with foods like beefheart and it can eventually kill them. I would stick to more aquatic type foods like shrimp and bloodworm, only extreem predators like snakeheads, arowanas, pikes and some cichlids and catfish should be fed on mamal based foods and even then only in small quantities.
