I'm pretty sure tetras aren't livebearers.

I happen to like halfbeaks best: they look cool, they fight constantly, and breeding them is a nice challenge but yet not particularly difficult.

Perhaps the ultimate livebearer is the 3-meter long sand tiger shark. Each baby shark, one in each arm of the uterus, eats the eggs the mother subsequently produces. By the time they're born, the young pups are about a meter long. Anyone who thinks livebearers are for softies should think twice before saying that to a sand tiger!

No, it's really not.

The correct pluralisation of "platy" is "platies".

Apostrophes are used either to make a possessive noun (e.g., Sarah's shoes) or to indicate that a letter or number is missing (e.g., can't for cannot; '60s for 1960s).

Apostrophes are never used to make plurals (e.g., the infamous greengrocer's apostrophe, as in banana's and cauliflower's). Nor are they used to make plurals out of numbers (e.g., 1960's is wrong).

eg. limia perugiae, brachyrhaphis roseni, endlers and girardinus metalicus cf. "yellow belly"

These are varieties I like and own.

I've asked Neale the same thing about his avatar, after I sat there and pondered for about 30 minutes a few days ago. I still don't understand.

I didn't vote, since Endlers and other wildies are my favorite. I also took out Tetras for you, and corrected the spelling. Hope you don't mind.
