Right now in my 8 gallon aquarium( I know its overstockedd but Im moving them into a 55 galon this week) I have 2 silver sailfin mollies( m and f) and 4 guppies (1 m and 3 females) but also a dwarf pl*co and 7 little pearl danios.....They havent bred once? I havent seen a sweeling in the size of the molly or a gravid spot on the females? The one female has a redish spot where the gravid spot is...does that mean shes ready to have fry? Any advice?

I'd say be patient. It may just depend on how stressed or fertile the female is. One of my female guppies that I purchased awhile back had babies every month since the day I got her, then another female I bought with her didn't start breeding till 3month after(and yes males were there). Are any of them farely new to the tank? Don't worry in no time you'll be seeing the little guys. :)
Just have a watchful eye b/c fry will be consumed very eaggerly by most fish.

The fry may have been eaten, but like snowyangel said "I'd be patient" I would too, you can't rush babies being born it takes time. My guppies gave birth a round 5 months after I bought them.

Thanks but Ive had them in their over a year and now i have just mopved them into a 55 gallon tank :p But i havent seen a gravid spot on any odf the female guppies but my oldest one has a pink spot where the gravid spot should be? any one knows?

I'm not really a specialist, but you never know I say something useful.
I have 4 female guppies, and all of them have fry every month. (well, so far anyway, I only have them for like 2 months) :p

but I also have 2 more in a bigger tank, and they just don't breed.
They are more colorful than the other females (but still females).
I think they just are infertile...

Yea I moved them into the bigger tank and bought a new blue male! Uhh...are they breeding when the males chase the females and like nip their fins? Or what? And what is up with my females PINK gravid spot!!!!

ive had loads of fry, swordtails many times, first time for guppies, first time for red wags, third time for mollies and i believe a molly has been impregnated by a red wag or guppy

WHAT...why the hell do you believe that
And when you say red wags is that platys or swordtails because the colour variety is the same in both!

it wouldn't matter neither can breed with mollies, guppies can however it is very rare that any fry survive

Well, they must be stressed out! That is a very small tank for all those fish, and when I kept 6 mollies in my 10 gallon, they never really got fat until I moved them to my 20 gallon.

Good luck! :good:

What kind of water conditions are you working with and what are you feeding them? Guppies will do best with hard water and a high pH of over 7.5. They are best conditioned on a diet that is heavy in green things rather than a bunch of live food. I find I can't slow the breeding in my guppy tank but I feed a spirulina flake food and have water that is liquid rock with a pH of 7.8. The algae based flake also is a great food for raising guppy, molly, platy or swordtail fry.
