Live8 London - 2nd July 2005

Ok, so I was lucky enough to win a couple of tickets for the Live8 event in Hyde Park,

London on 2nd July 2005, so I thought I'd share a few pics.

1st up we queued, and queued and queued and across the road was a gay parade and they had a

pink tank, blowing bubbles from it's turret, so I couldn't resist.

Once in we saw U2 and Sir Paul McCartney

We had to move as there was a random nutty Canuck near us

It was a beautiful sunny day

Lou and Andy were there - Yeah I know

It Support was there (Bill Gates)

Dido, was not great, but phwoar

Stereophonics - They were fantastic

REM - Mad as a box of frogs

Keane - One of the best performances all day

Travis - Thankfully it never did rain down on me

Saint Bob Geldof - really didn't want to hear him sing, but he was great

Annie Lennox - Another I didnt want to see, but was fantastic, "Why" nearly made me cry

Snoop Dogg - Oowee, fo shizzle my nizzles, he got the crowd bouncing

They played the original video from Live Aid with all the starving kids with The Cars - Drive playing in the background, which was very emotional then Sir Bob brought out Birhan Woldu the kid who was 10 mins from death in the video, this was her then

this had most of the crowd in tears , not me , I had something in my eyes
This is her now, with Madonna and she is beautiful

Joss Stone - She wants me, she may not realise it, but she does

Scissor Sisters - They were good, but why play a new track and not do Filthy Gorgeous?

Mariah "Me Me" Carey - the only boo's I heard all day were for her, but great voice and you would

Another for the Ladies - Bumbling Beckham introducing Robbie Williams

Speaking of which - Robbie Williams, he was the equivalent of Queen at the 1st Live Aid, great performance and ALL the crowd joined in with him, a real showman

Who? - Oh yeah, The Who, nice to be able to say I saw them, but not my thing

I'm kicking myself now. I had a chance to work at the one in Barrie doing office work, but I would have had the whole day off. I turned it down because it was only only weekend off for the next 2 months, and I sat around doing nothing.

Oh well. What is past is past.
