live rock and copper

Is there any way a tank and have live rock that has been exposed to copper? the tank has lava rock now,but can I add just the live rock>?

Ity wont stop the bacteria forming and tuhs the filtration part of the rock working. However, any crustaceans, inverts and other life etc will die causing spikes.

I would do a copper test on the water first. Perhaps it might be clear (although it can still remain hidden in sand etc.
