Live Food In The Fridge

How long will bloodworm and daphnia survive in sealed bags in the fridge. They aren't available in the town where I live so I need to buy as many as possible when I make a run out to get them.

Should get up to week from the Daphnia and the Bloodworm slightly longer.
Bloodworm need to pupate before hatching into flying insects.

Have you thought about culturing your own Daphnia its pretty easy as long as you can provide the conditions and food.
I have done extensive work on this in the killifish section both on algae cultures to feed your daphnia and also how to maintain cultures of D. pulex and a much smaller waterflea Moina macrocopa.

Yes, I was thinking about that. I'm more inclined towards micro worms though, seems like it would be easier than culturing water based food?

Which live food would you recommend for Cardinal Tetras? I plan to keep a shoal of 15 to 20 of them once my tank has matured enough. It would be good to have a good supply of live food ready for them as soon as they arrive.
