Hey there does anyone know if you can
put live bamboo plants in a tank?

I'm thinking a forest-type theme?

Any advice Welcome :good:

I heard so long as it's not fully submerged (the top is out of the water) that it won't rot, but I can't really remember though. I'm sure someone will come along and be able to help ya *nodnod*

Thanks for the quick reply :good:

Any ideas on how much has to be out of the water?

I've used a single stalk of bamboo in my betta bowl before. I had it completely covered with water. I only had it in the bowl for a few weeks though then decided to take it out. It hadn't started to decay. I'm curious about the answer to this question too, because I was kind of wanting to go with the same theme as you in one of my betta tanks. Lots of stalks of bamboo-like a forest, would look lovely. I know last time I went to PetSmart they were selling bamboo with their plants. It's something they just started.

I absolutely love this tank. Very creative! Where can you get dead bamboo and how would you treat it before placing it in a tank?

I asked an employee at Petsmart about fully submerging live bamboo and she said she didn't see why it would cause a problem. Taken with a grain of salt though. I guess it's something we'll just have to try and see what happens.

I'm bumping this incase someone else knows any more about it.
