Little Help Please

Bought 2 small tiger oscars today and didn't really do any research on them. Was just wondering if my fish already in the tank will survive.

I have 2 medium/large angel fish, 3 medium cichlids, 2 medium plecos, 2 medium catfish and 3 Medium flying fox.

Any advice would be appreciated

Very risky buying those oscars, typically the only fish ive seen be successful with oscars are actually types of Piranha, now it is very possible this tank setup will work beautifully but still very risky. But usually if the Oscars have not already destroyed the entire population in your tank then its possible it will end up working out. Hope it does work out for you :}

Lots of very large fish there... almost daren't ask, what size is your tank?

Sorry but this is only partially right and just to clear up Oscars should never be kept with Pirahnas - Silver Dollars yes but not Pirahnas.... Oscars will usually only wipe out a tank if they are cramped - which is the same as any cichlid, if you over crowd them or cram them in a small tank it will end badly when done right the fish will live well together for years.

Oscars are quite a territorial fish and generally speaking the guide is 75g for a lone one and then 150g and you can be quite flexable - they are not really just a fish to add to any tank, you get the Oscar or Oscars and then decide what you can keep with them.

The Angels are probably not going to work out long term - when you say 3 medium Cichlids what kind of Cichlids? Same for the Catfish what kind of Catfish? Also never work on phrases such as "medium" or "small" for fish if you buy a Oscar for example - you do not have a "small" Oscar - you have an Oscar with the potential to grow over a foot long, get very thick and rotund and create an incredible amount of poop...

But as said important fact is what size tank do you have now? And what are the other cichlids and catfish you have.

Ive seen various tanks here in NC where 1 foot long oscars are kept regularly with red bellied piranhas. From what ive heard from everyone they do fine with each other. But im sure Wills is more knowledged than me in this area. So I would listen to him. But the size of your tank is definitely important
