My white cloud is happy with them, so if I get more, he can shoal with them, but for now, he actually enjoys the company of bettas. I hear ADFs may eat small fish, and my white cloud is about the same size as the bettas, so if he's at risk of becoming a snack, they are too. And yes, I will for sure keep minnows, and if I add ADFs, stocking will be complete.

ADFs are quite small and could only eat a fish the size of a baby guppy, more or less. It's the ACFs that you have to worry about. That's why I asked if you can tell the difference. Don't count on the lfs clerk even knowing there are more than one kind of aquatic from. Both might be very small when you buy them, but the difference will quickly become apparent.

ACFs will become as large as a man's fist and will need about 10 gallons of water each. They are good pets too, but cannot be kept with small fish.
