Hi everybody,

i have recently been a box of ''lithaqua'' by Kusuri. This is calcified seaweed high in trace elements and carbonates. Its a filter media that is super porous. I believe it is generally used in fish pond filters,,,my question is would this material be usable in a external filter on my tropical tanks, or would it prove to much in an enclosed enviroment,,it also has super buffering capabilities,,and help would be appreciated,,,

thanks ,john

"Super-buffering" means it will likely raise the KH and pH of your tank significantly. Unless you have fish that need a high pH, I would avoid it. There are a huge number of media available that will provide more than adequate bio-filtration without altering the chemistry of your water.
