hi all
I thought it would be useful for members to list the canisters they are running, or have ran in the past
and to rate them out of 10

ratings should take into account
reliability, leakage (if any), purchase cost (new), availability of 'official media' and ease of maintenance.

mine (current)
*Jebo (LAC) 809: 7
Tetratec EX1200: 8
*Eheim Classic 2211: 8
Eheim Classic 2215: 9.5
Eheim Pro 2224: 8

mine (past)
Eheim ecco 2234: 6
*Supafish Aqua-pro 2: 5

Note; * denotes second hand

Eheim ECCO 2234 :D - 9, so far.

Right now, I'm running my old filter and the new one, so I'm not too sure until I get my bacteria built up for it. :) It is MUCH more quiet than my old HOB, that's for sure.

fluval 305: good value for money, bit on the loud side overall 8/10
fluval 405: same as above.

Eheim Classic 2217: 9

It would be a 10 if the directions were better. The only reason it was set up correctly the first time is from looking at pics on line, mostly like where the valves go.
Other than that it meets or exceeded most of my expectations.

Eheim Pro 2224: 6 a pain when i dom my 50% weekly water change to start it up (other that that its alright i surpose)

Eheim ecco 2234:9 reliable never had a problem with it (Had it for well over 3 years now)

rena filter (sorry not sure on name as it was thrown) got it with the tank leaked twice within 3 months (1 time i lost over 80 litres)

fluval 205 x2 bit noisy initially not so bad now 8/10
fluval 204 x2 noisy otherwise ok for me 7/10

tetra tec 1200 excellent filter, extremely quiet and the water is crystal, easy to setup and maintain 9/10

sera 1100, not bad for cheaper brand of filter, bit noisy though, but easy to maintain and it is effecient enough, only thing is the pipes aren't very robust they bend and kink too easily 6.5/10

Eheim Classic 2213 (9/10)

Not had this filter for very long, so can't comment on reliability etc. Was very easy to set up and is nice and quiet. Can't fault it so far!!!

thanks to those that have already put theirs up.

to everyone else
what are you waiting for? :dunno:

Eheim 2217 pumps to a 6' head in a custom built overflow system. 10/10 reliable and low maintenance.

Hydor-prime 30 7/10. filter is without fault, just the ancillary bits are of low quality.
