List Exactly What I Need To Breed Bettas.

I had to chime in on the whisper 10gal filter.
If it's the same one I have.. you definitely do NOT want to use it with a betta... fry or adult (unless the tank is large enough for the adult to get away from it, or you rig something up to reduce the flow from it, but still definitely not fry). You can't adjust the flow from it and the flow is VERY strong.
I have mine sitting in our 28gallon tank and our hillstream loach loves it b/c of the strong current that comes from the flow.

NVMD-- I read about my answer in another post! :D

I was considering starting a marine reef tank. Gosh...I love those...but I'm not sure if it's the best thing to start since I *may* have to move in a year...maybe I'll just have a couple betta tanks and try my hand at breeding for a while. Gosh! I don't know, and I just don't have the space to have all the fish I want!

ha! i hear you on that! i also hope to be moving, so i am already making plans for some new tanks!

as for the filter, it is this exact model,

there really isnt a lot of flow contributed by it at all, but i still understand it wouldnt be ideal for breeding. any chance i could do one male betta and maybe a couple shrimp, or something else?

Yep, that's the one I have. I'm surprised you say there's not alot of flow b/c there sure is a heck of alot from mine. Like I said.. our hillstream loach LOVES it. It's almost always attached to it b/c the flow is strong from it.
