Liquid Algae Killer

bad

any chemical you add to the tank is bad tbh, i would rather find out the cause instead of treating the result ;) :good:

Agreed. Unless you find the cause of the algae and eliminate it, the chemical will only be a temporary fix and it will come back. Common causes of algae are too much light, especially any exposure to direct sunlight and over feeding. What does the algae look like? Is the tank every in direct sunlight? How long are your lights on each day? How often do you feed your fish?

put more plants in the tank to use the extra light. Floating plants like water sprite (Ceratopterus thalictroides) are good for shading the tank.
If its a bit of algae on the glass wipe it off with a clean soap free sponge.

I think you will find that most people will advise against any chemicals other than dechlorinator and possibly ferts for the plants.

 I like to the natural way and use algae fish eaters and just clean the tank when I do water changes. Less chemicles the better.
