Just thought I'd share. I have a plant (no idea what kind) in my betta's tank, it has long thin leaves that kind of go everywhere. Well, anyways, the other day, Mr. Betta would swim down to the bottom where a leaf was laying across the gravel over and over again, so I went over to see what he was up to. He had dug out some gravel under the leaf, and was swimming down to it, laying down on his side, and then wiggleing underneath, kind of like doing the limbo. He did this about six times while I watched, then he swam to the top of the tank and did his little "feed me mommy" dance. What a silly little fishy. Tried to get a couple of pics, but they never seem to come out on his tank, I think the acrylic may make the pics fuzzy, cause I don't have that problem on any of the other tanks.

So, what's the silliest thing your bettas have done?

I had a female slide into a little terra cotta pot - those 2 inch ones - that was over half-buried in the gravel. She shimmied her way in on her side......and couldn't back out. I had to rescue her, and I left it unburied for her to use it as a cave.

One of my bettas likes to play limbo, too, and one of my dwarf gourami plays limbo in the dwarf sag all the time. Funny to watch.

My male crowntail once followed some loose algae to the little filter and the algae got stuck in the filter and he started flaring like crazy at it and the current caught his fins and flipped him all through the small amount of open space, I thought he was hurt but he just acted completely normal and then went and did it again 2 or 3 times until the algae got sucked all the way up.

One of my friends had a one gallon with a little under-gravel filter. Well the filter had a gap in it and one day her fish swam in there! He actually started living in there. He'd come out for feeding time, then wiggle back under the gravel again.

That is hilarious! I have never seen a fish do the limbo before. :) Mine would do a "feed me mommy" dance, too. I wish I could teach my new one, if and when I get a new one, to do the limbo. That is funny! :)
