Well I compromised. i didn't take it back and I didnt keep it. My friends little girl is now the proud owner of a small fishtank, don't worry I told Mummy to get a heater nand put a platy in it not a goldfish

todays results,
ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 0 and no waterchange today...yeah!

hi guys, just been up to my arms in ill little girl who cuddles mummy to death.
Unfortunately no the tanks not cycled but not showing aything but 0's as the bacs arent progressing, at least i dont think so, the betta is happy as heck and so are his tank mates...the plants are growing well so I assume they are taking up most of the wastes.
still perform waterchanges every few days anyway if the tank looks dirty. apple snail is growing well too. Thats tank 3 anyway
tank 2 (90L)is another deal, still having to do daily changes was diue to ammonia rising, now down to nitrites rising, so some progression, but I dont think it will settle til the fry have grown up and gone. still having white spot probs but now relying on high temps and salt additions as the treatment helped but didnt clear it
tank 1 (64L) shows a cycled tank every now and again, todays results were 0 0 5, but usually one or other is .25 so daily water changes when that happens. so busy busy, just thought posts with the same thing would be boring, so i stopped posting, to save your boredom and mine....sorry guys and er no , no 4th tank x

180L tank no 4 coming tomorrow, Had a bargain ( 10 yr old) with mahogany cabinet, UGFilter so may change it to a PF4 filter that I bought a few weeks ago, also need to sortout a light unit, as the tank was self built i think by previous owner, so have to go researching

What a difference two days make.

So what's the plan? Are you going to consolidate some of your current stock into the new tank? A nice sand substrate with all your cory in there would be something to see.

I am still thinking about it, but a cory tank is one option, I have a bag of play sand from tesco still sealed....can I use that? second option is a fry tank and concentrate on platy breeding. third option was goldfish, but now i've seen it I think its too small, correct me if I'm wrong, 3rd option small fish community tank, 4th option...cichlids or guorami....help too many options
also I am thinking of putting a interpet PF4 in it as I think the underwater gravel system looks kind of dirty ( loads of square pieces put in joined up)I will know better tomorrow when I can take it apart, plus I havw to buy new heater, what watt? lol and the light system is very old, what do I do there?
