I'm kitting out a 36" 45 gallon tank, and am researching lighting control units. My current 24" tank has only 1.25 WPG and plants do not thrive, so I am aiming for 2+ WPG in the new tank. I have been round a few shops and researched online, and can't decide between these 2 products. Any input / opinions on these products will be gratefully recieved!

Option 1 - 2x39w GLO T5HO Fluorescent Lighting System

Option 2 - Arcadia Ultraseal T5 2x24/39w AEUD 524-39

I am looking at installing a twin initially with the intention of adding a third tube at a later date if required.

Either would be fine. You can get twin reflectors for the Hagen ones, though I guess you could use them on the Arcadia ones two.

Guess the Arcadia ones are watertight, which might be a consideration.

EDIT - which ever you get have a read of this, and save yourself a packet ;)

I've got a pretty tight condensation lid so I don't think it's gonna be worth paying extra for the Arcadias.

Thank you so much for that link! Great to see how the tubes work together, I've ordered a few so I can mix & match and still saved a few quid!
