I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture but i got my tank off someone i know and i haven't the first clue about lighting but in my tank its as if the light doesn't reach the bottom properly. It sounds stupid but its like the top half of the tank is fine but the bottom half is dull when i first got the tank it was ok the lighting seemed fine and bright
i tried to do some diy reflectors but it didn't work lol i have took the lights out and put them back in and i done that yesterday but it was the same before and after i done that.

:good: Youve got some new plants havent you ant, looking good, what it is mate is bulbs only last for around 6 - 12 months depending on the manufacture, they loose 50% of light out put, it may be frankly that they have lost much efficiency its actually noticable, try some new bulbs, thats probably why your plants have stopped growing so well. :hyper:

sprung one new plant out of nowhere lol but other than that they have just grown alot other than the one in-between the bog wood which has died off abit got some plant fertiliser today though so should help it

i think ive sorted it when i took the lights out i put them back in wrong because the one at the back was slowly dying i think so when i get back from holiday ill get my new filter and a light

sorting that problem i have another
because the tank i have has no glass between the surface of the water and the hood by were the lights are it gets wet which is making the tape holding the reflectors on come off and making the reflectors drop ive tried to replace the tape but again it just dropped. then i used gaffer tape to try keep it on but again it come right off

the reflectors are like whats in this hood the white ones
was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to stick them on and keep them on

Is there a way you can use a couple of short bolts to do it? It probably wouldn't take much to punch a small hole through a plastic hood and reflector, then use a small diameter short bolt with a nut on the other end. Use a stainless steel bolt and it should not rust on you.
