Lighting Question

I have a juwel Trigon 190 with standard lighting 2x15w (24" - 600mm) tubes im just curious if that lighting is good enough for the plants and moss to grow ok it always looks abit dull to me.

Any suggestions on a possible upgrade like an arcadia I-bar I already have reflectors on the tubes. Is it possible to fit a bigger wattaged tube?

Odd-shaped tanks are notoriously hard to light effectively. The 2 x 24w Arcadia I-bar would be an improvement and you'd have success with easy plants i.e. ferns, moss, anubias, crypts, easy stems.

Is that the T5 I-bar? becuase I cant see an i-bar that is 2x 24W and only 600m long

I guess so but if you were to go T5 then you could get some amazing light with 600mm.

Hi,

Ive got a trigon 190 with orignal lights...It is fully planted and doing really well. I do have reflectors, latarite and CO2 tho which im sure helps.

Ive you do upgrade let me know, as i would be really interested.

So the original light is only 600mm? I think the smallest T5 I-bar is 32" so wouldn't fit. You could upgrade your tubes to T6 for more light - http/www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...ex&cPath=12_207
