Hey,

I've got a tank where the filter and light run off the same plug. The light is operated by manually turing it on on the hood.

Unfortuately, I am unable to put my light on a timer as the filter would also be off for most of the day. Due to this I end up putting my light on a 7am and tuning it off at 6pm. This means that I dont get to enjoy my fish as I work in the day time!

Does anyone know if I can by another power pack. The pack comprises of a plug with a cable that runs into a box (the transformer I assmue) then follows onto another cable which ends with a "female" adaptor socket.

I want another of these! can anyone help, doe anyone know what I'm on about even?

do both the filter and the light connect to the output of that box? or does only one use the box but both connect to the same mains plug? just trying to get a picture in my head.

is the tank a fish r fun tank? if so I'm afraid there's no possible way to stick a timer in unless you rip apart the electrics and put a hard wired timer in there.

although if you don't have algae problems or not bothered about algae you can leave it on for ages.

i turn my tanks on at 8 then turn them off as i go to bed from aorund 11-12. apart from 1 of my tanks which runs completely on timers.

It is a fish are fun one. Problem solved though. I bought another power pack from my LFS so I got it on a timer and its working perfect. Dunno bout ripping the cables apart lol!

Thanks for your help tho
