Hello, had a question about the lighting in my tank, and i have gotten a lot of helpful info here!
Ok, so i have too much lighting for my 18-20gallon cube tank...
it was previously salt water (many years ago) and it had a nice hood that goes with it. I replaced one bulb for a 6500k plant/freshwater but it still has the old 50/50 actinic/10000k bulb too.
i cannot remove the bulb because it wont function without both. I have had a frustrating algae bloom that i now know is from the extra light... can i put in another 6500k? or what can i do? i had seen a post about electrical taping.. sounded brilliant.. until i went and touched the bulb to see if i felt it was a safe idea.... well.. OUCH. LOL. its not. also, aren't the 10000k bulbs good for tropical? or is my tank just too small for that?
any suggestions? thank you!
