Light bulb melting possibly?

So I haven't done this yet,want some opinions.I got a little 5 gallon hood.You know those metal reflectors behind the bulb,then the splash cover?Well is it ok if a bulb touches that metal reflector some?Or will that melt the plastic hood?

Could you swap the bulb out for an led one? they are relatively cheap nowadays and give out very little heat.

Well,I haven't done it yet,im just wondering if the bulb hits the reflector some is that ok? I should also say it is a cfl.

I wouldn't risk it, the bulb should not touch the reflector it needs to have a gap all the way around it.
