LFS and poeple who shop there...

I was just there today buying my pleco some wafers, and I overheard a person wanting to buy a pleco.


Buyer: "Ooo, get the biggest one"!
LFS employee: How big is your tank?
Buyer: 20 gallon
LFS employee: They get as big as 18", so it should be nice in there
Buyer: Ok great!


If she(the buyer) KNEW that it grew 18", WHY did she buy it?!!??? I didn't say anything, but they wouldm't listen to a 14 year old anyway.

Some people just act without thinking and they have to learn the hard way. Too bad the fish has to suffer though. I "rescued" an 11" common pleco from my sister. They bought the thing when it was maybe an inch long and kept it in a 5 gallon tank with 2 albino cories and a goldfish. The poor thing couldn't even turn around in there. Now he and the cories are very happy in my 75 gallon tank. Poor goldfish died though.

Well, I bet the plec will die before it gets that large. Years ago, my friend had a 20g with a pleco, and it couldnt move, everytime it did it messed up the whole tank, and would slosh water all over the place.
