Lettuce for silver dollars

Silvers dollars where eating my plants so I put lettuce into the tank and they love it. They are now leaving the plants alone. I just want to know can they over eat on the lettuce?

Lettuce is ok as part of a varied diet but they should get dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and silverbeet as well.

Make sure they are washed well to remove any possible chemical contamination.
