Hi guys, so i've been keeping an eye on Glitzy (my last survivor molly from a tank disaster.) She seems to be having signs of breathing issues. I'll describe further.
- sits at the very bottom of holder tank (showing very heaving breathing)
- isn't very active anymore (She just sits there!)
- barely ever surfaces to eat (sometimes won't eat at all.)
Please help me figure out what's wrong with her and the fastest remedy. She's my last molly and it'd be killer to loose her too.

she's not currently being dosed with any meds but here are her water stats:
- 0 nitrate
- .5 nitrite (working on water changes)
- 150 water hardness
- 0 chlorine (like always lol)
-80 alkalinity (Is there anyway this can be raised?)
and a 7.8 pH
I check her every other day and that's the most recent water check I did today. Her holder only includes gravel and one small artificial plant.

Can I ask what happen? It sounds like ammonia damage. There gills might be so burned up that breathing may become difficult. They can die sometime after, also stress and loss of tank mates may be the cause too.

Agree with Techen. We need to know what exactly the disaster was as this is likely to be related. Nitrites in your tank aren't good either.

Well, she wasn't actually in the tank with the fish that died, she's just my last survivor molly period.  I'm getting the API mini test kit for only ammonia today. If readings are high, how can I help her if her gills are burned?

Oh and i'm still working on water changes 25% so when I test again tomorrow hopefully they would've taken it out.

She was only ever with my male molly Hurricane but unfortunately, he passed shortly after the disaster. :(
