Leopard Gecko Setup

hey.
im planning on getting a leopard gecko in the summer (i know its quite a way away... but oh well)
anyway.. i've already got the viv as i got it from preloved.co.uk.
it is a brand new exo terra viv never been used. 45x45x60 and comes with heater, light, wood, thermometer etc.
Got this all for 40pounds..
i was just wondering. where should the light be. because the one i have is nailed onto the back of the background in the middle.. i was just wondering if this was alright there. its just that all the pics of the viv setups i've seen all have them on the top.
just need a little advice since im new to leopard geckos.. been researching them for a while tho...
all help appreciated.

I find heatmats to be far better than heat lamps.
