Leo Is In The Breeding Tank!

i setup the breeding tank today, Leo is in there getting used to his new home for now, still being conditioned (this is 2nd week)
when should i put the female in the breeder tank (a livebearer trap for starters of course) i was thiniking of adding her around friday?
has some floating plants for him to bubblenest, not that he needs anything little randy fellow, and a nice bushy silk plant for Lily's cover,
The tank is heated, currently no filter will this be a problem?

any advice appeciated got loads of jars and food ready for fry am so excited

All I would say is dont get too over excited ! I did and sometimes females and males just dont gel. But you might strike lucky, the other thing is that the KG betta website says that bettas breed best on a full moon. My male builds his best bubble nest around then so I think its true!

I personaly prefer no filter. No need imo. If you stick to a strict w/c routene i wouldn't worry. Yes friday sounds a good time to let her in the tank (in trap)

glad i'm doing this right, as for building bubblenests on full moons, this guy has built nearly everyday since i have had him, he'll build one, destroy it then build a bigger one the next day silly boy!
i have another male also being conditioned but Lily is my only female so hoping they do 'gel'

wilsons right, soemtimes betta breed fine, other times they take a disliking to each other and you have to use a different male female combo. I had a stunning mg pair that the female tryed to kill the male the instant she could get at him. was quite the shame

if you put the male and female together and he just chases her around and nips at her and she is constantly hiding instead of them breeding should i take her out...I hate to have all her eggs go to waste...they have been together for about a day

Leo has built a little nest already is currently making it bigger as i type, Lancelot has also made one

well Lily is in her container in the tank, alot of flaring going on on both parts, will give them both more BW tonight then again in the morning before releasing (if ready of course)
