im thinking of getting some LEDs for my juwel rio 125 to replace my t5s. later on tho. i was thinking these http://www.reefstore.co.uk/cart/New-Marine-Blue-Reef-White-Combo-pr-17967.html all im going to keep is some softies and maybe some lps corals my lighting at the moment is 2 28 watt t5 lights. would the LEDs be the same amount of light or would it be less?

The lights you have are fine for the corals you want to keep, save your money and buy coral. If you want more light, buy another ibar :good: you can often get them second hand. The aquarays are still to prove themselves - talk to Ben, he sold his

well its to save running cost and it last 10 years so i dont have to replace them much. i carnt fit another i bar because of the depth of the tank. for 2 t5 lights its £40 thats £80 a year  and my pocket money donsnt reach that far.

I couldn't find any specific information on their site about the wattage, lumens etc. Without that information, impossible to say how "good" they are.

I think ive read that the aqua rays use cree q5's 3w (it one of the top leds cree make)

Ive been looking at led lighting quite abit over the last few weeks and it seems that people dont use enough of them to get what they want to achieve.

Ive worked out that i would need around 80 leds (40 blue, 40 white) to light up a 5x2x2 which would cost around £800. Basically what im getting at is you need quite a few leds to get a similar output to that of a MH or t5 setup
