Well, I am leaving out tomorrow for my B-day trip. I will be gone until Monday. I don't have a timer for my lights and can't afford to go get one right now because I have to get my kitten fixed and help pay for my bf's excessive speeding ticket. (Bad Boy!)

Should I get one of those little feeding cubes for vacations?

Should I leave a lamp on in the room with the aquarium lights off?

Will my ADF be ok without food for so long?

Is it OK to leave a piece of lettuce in there for the snail? (I do like my plants, and he will eat them otherwise) Or should I remove my plants (or snail) to the quarantine tank? (it is currently empty)

Should I get the 2 tanks from my BF's house and bring them here to prevent overfeeding? (I feed them, he's not allowed to touch, just look)

I have already done a through cleaning of the 1 and 2 g tanks, vacumed the 10 gal and fished a snail from the filter blades. (So that's what that noise was! xD)

Any other tips would be wonderful. I'm scared to leave them all alone for a few days.

Someone else can help you more, but let me tell you, those feeding cubes should be illegal  Don't use one, it causes more harm than good.

Oh and by the way, the fish in your avatar  Do you have any other pictures?

No, lol...He's not my Betta, I just wish he was. I don't even remember how I found it either. I just am waiting for my camera to get fixed so I can make a new avater of my 'Birthday CT' that my bf got me. He's a lovely opaque steel blue.

That's where I found the pictures I think...Look for 'Blue Angel' in the shop.

Woooow he is gorgeous! Everytime I see your avatar I want to ask  Thanks for the link!

You could drop a piece of lettuce in for the snail if you would like, but the bettas and frogs should be fine for the few days you'll be gone. Make it up to em with a good meal of bw's and water changes when you get home. They'll forgive you. Every time I have left for a few days I always made sure the blinds to the room they are in are open so they still get light. I wouldn't use the feeder cubes though. Too easy to over feed and foul the water.

Thanks! ^-^ Will feed that snail and open my blinds. Hope the water won't smell too bad when I get back.

I think I may go get a few ghost shrimp early tomorrow and drop them in the tanks, they always get eaten and can move away so there won't be too much gluttony.

I went on a 4 day vacation, and i used this vacation feeder, i guess it's like the cubes ur talking about. well, they were horrible. i put them in on Thursday, and when i came home monday at about 4 pm, all my tanks smelled like rot. ewww, so gross. i think they got a little too much food from them, cause they all gained weight after eating them.

If i'm just going for the weekend I just let them fast but if I have to be gone longer ...say a week...and I really feel they should be fed then I get one of those pill reminder things with a box for each day and measure the food exacty into it. I even have a really small one for the betta pellets. That way no one can overfeed and you can even build a day of fasting into it if you need to.. I also hide the extra so my "helper" wont be tempted to add another bite or two. :p
