Leaving For A 3 Day Trip - Will My Fish Be Okey?

Hi,

so I am leaving for a 3 day (possibly 4) trip and would like some advice on how to make sure that I don't lose any fish. Feeding, lighting, filtration etc. Any advice helps, I just don't want to come back home to dead or sick fish. Thanks in advance!

Is your tank cycled? If so, they will be good for 3 days.
My tank wasn't cycled I went away for 5 days.
Did 90% WC the morning before I left then a 50% WC the morning I left. Gave the fish some food on the day I left and they were still swimming when I came back.

Your fish will be fine without food for that time.
 
If you have a timer for your lights then just leave them on that.
 
Your filtration will be fine (as long as the tank is cycled).
It would be good if you did a water change before you leave home and when you get bac.

I have recently come back from a 9 day holiday and nobody fed my tanks: discus, ellioti with fry, jaguar juveniles and a reef. Everyone was fine.

I'm about to do the same thing.  My plan is a large water change the day before (since I'm leaving early in the morning and doing it then would not work) and I will be leaving the tank lights off.  Curtains will be cracked to let in some natural light so they won't be in darkness during that time.

thanks everyone! My tank is cycled at the moment, so I will be doimg a water change when I leave and when I come back. Should I feed them any differently either before or after I leave or just continue with the same usual routine?

Just carry on with your usual feeding.
 
Don't be tempted to add extra food; that could lead to water quality issues when you're not there to deal with them.
 
Most adult tropical fish, in a mature planted tank, can easily go without food for two weeks, so your little trip will cause them no problems
