Hey all,

I'm looking at setting up a dwarf puffer tank and thought that it would be nice to add some dried leaves to make their tank as much like their natural habitat as I could. However, my pH already runs around 6.5-6.7 and I don't want it to dip down much more.

Does anyone here have any experience with leaves that do not alter the pH?

Thanks!

oak leaves, ive used them, either pick them yourself or buy a pack from ebay real cheap

All the leaves will alter the ph slightly, even Tea drops the ph when you make a cup of tea...

Plenty you can do without adding leaves anyway, they do only break down into a mulch...

Oak leaves are good. I used to use them in snakehead tanks and they take ages to rot away

Perfect, oak leaves it is. It can alter the pH a touch I just don't want it to drop severely.

Thanks - I'll try them and monitor the pH.
