I'm not a big fan of common breeder species such as mollies, guppies, platies and the like. They just seem really common and not much in the way of excitment IMO.

I dont think I like eels all too much either. Look too much like snakes... which obviously then I'm not too big of a fan of either.. haha

Snakes are lovely creatures,i own 4.People who don't like them or say they are 'so evil' have normally never seen nor touched one in person.The fear of snake is out of ignorence.Btw not having a go at you,just making a point

It's pretty sad.But in the wild pihranas go around eating most fish,shredding them alive.I've seen so many videos of them eating catfish in the wild.You've just got to deal with it
This thread is kinda silly but fun .If you add together all the fish which people said they dislike the only fishes that people like are oddballs
Anyway,i dislike aggressive CAE's,plain looking livebearers & dyed fish..

I agree on the parrot cichlids... same goes for balloon mollies. Both are just ugly in body shape.

*nods* I don't really like those balloon mollies either. Whenever I see them at the store it always looks like they have to struggle to swim.
Same goes for most of those really fat fancy goldfish. Whenever I've seen them, to me they always look like they're struggling.
I also can't stand those goldfish with the huge googly bubble eyes thing going on.. BLEH

I dont like dwarf gouramis and three spots, I dunno they just seem so bland, plus I still haven't heard of a dwarf in Australia actually thriving.

yup things like baloon mollies and those fancy goldies with the big swollen heads, just look deformed and wrong. although i love parrot fih which a lot of people would class as the same

the one fish i just do not understand the appeal of is tiger barbs, theyre just plain ugly, horrible colouring, don't like the body shape and they're vicious mean buggers to boot. horrible little things

CheesyFeet, its been suggested that the reason many people dislike snakes, spiders etc. is an inbuilt mechanism from humanities less advanced days. Ie. when we slept in the wild and were more likely to be sharing our bed space with a snake than finding a home for them. That said, i have no idea about it myself, can't remember where i read it. Personally i love snakes, my brothers mexican king died about a year back. Just to make the point its not necessarily ignorance why they are so commonly hated/feared.
Umm... I like neon tetras the least, i just find them so common its boring.

all this tiger barb hate mail!! personally i think they're great! Even better in a big shoal (ie ten +) and aren't as aggressive. They aren't the best community fish in the world, but when they swim around fighting between each other in a close group they are amazing! all you unappreciating fishkeepers


personally i hate bala sharks and pangasius cats. Not their fault I just hate seeing them for sale in lfs. You just no they're going to go to a 10 gallon and are going to die 90% of the time!
