All photos shot without flash. Kit lens (18-105). Comments and suggestions welcome .

No flash on any of them.

Handheld as I can't use a tripod as the tank is right next to my bed.

Fabulous! My only recommendation would be to lower your ISO (as you did for the last one) there is a slight grain coming through in the ones before, and as you can see, the detail in that last one is especially good! I will definitely be referring back to this thread to try out your settings when I finally get my own DSLR!

Oh! And let us know what camera you went for I'm still window shopping at the moment hehe.

The last one was shot at a part of the tank that has less surface vegetation and thus more light, making lower ISO easier to achieve. I will play around some more with it however .

Nikon D7000, very pleased with it.
