ok, my male betta appears and acts compleately well when im around at feeding time but when im not he juts kinda floats around or sleeps in his bed of java moss. when i go near his tank he flares like an idiot untill i throw in food and when i feed him it seems like he could eat his own weight. should i buy him a friend? what whould u suggest for a 1g bowl? snails dont work too good as he ate my last one and when i had another male he juts about killed himself from flareing so much. i userally flare him out for 15 minuts every other day to keep him healthy but he still is as lazy as he's always been -_-

Maybe get a second one gallon and another betta next to him  I keep my boys close enough where they can see if they want, but not so much that they get stressed out or can't get away. :)

im accually kicking around the idea of divideing up and 10g for my male(s) i got sand in one at the moment and sand is not the easyiest thing to move from a tank, so thats probably where it'll be. im not to crazy about ordering anything live thorgh postal service in the winter time so i might just wait off on getting any more fish for now, but there was this nice male in the lfs..... ;)
