will this work or will i just get a huge alge bloom??

as i`m having to strip the tank down in a couple of weeks to take it over to the gf`s so was thinking i could pop some substrate fert in as well, as this was something i never thought of when i first set the tank up, its moderaqtely planted and will when it comes into the gfs be heavily planted,

I would think you would be ok. You are just providing a nutrient rich substrate for the roots instead of adding in root tabs.

The need for CO2 general relates more to the lighting level, most other things don't really matter as much, having excess nutrients probably isn't going to cause algae if the light is kept quite low. If you have lots of lighting 2-3WPG then CO2 becomes necessary.

Always US and it also assumes you have reflectors over the lights.
