Larry is doing SO much better. He's the only betta I've ever had that will actually go up and flare at you. When I test his water he bites my finger hard. So I made a collage.

Day one: His color was a murky red and he had these little "fungus balls" at the end of his fins.

Day three: His color was a bit brighter, but the balls were still there.

Day seven: The "balls" are gone and his color is a lot brighter, a brilliant red with green.

I really want to get another betta. Should I get a rescue or a petshop betta? I feel so bad for the ones in need of a rescue, but the pet shop ones are nice. However I'm in love with watching small fish grow and all the pet shop bettas are huge. They do have small females, though, and I miss having a female. Occasionally they have females in with males, should I just get one of those "rescues"?/

If you want to have a young betta, why don't you ask around here on the forum. There are enough people that are breeding bettas and you could buy one of them. And in that way you can also be sure they come from loving homes!

I don't have nearly enough money to spend on shipping a betta. I spent the last $130 on my 10g.

It's entirely your choice when it comes to buying another fighter, you'll know which one to get because you'll fall in love with it straight away.

I'd personally go with a rescue...but it's really up to you

That's what happened last time, heh, it was between him and an opaque orange baby. But I figured the opaque (I think he was a SD) was prettier and he'd get adopted faster. And a half gallon was better than that cup, at least.
